Hvis du allerede har fået et bud på din bil fra din lokale forhandler, skal du være opmærksom på, om budet forudsætter, at du samtidigt køber en anden bil hos forhandleren - den ekstrapris, du kan få for din gamle bil, kommer du typisk selv til at give for meget, når du betaler for den nye! Og så står du ikke frit til at finde den bil, du allerhelst vil have, men må holde dig til forhandlerens udbud. Det vil ofte være forklaringen, hvis du har fået tilbudt mere end Autocom.dk's vurdering hos en forhandler. Prisen ved ren handel kan ikke sammenlignes med prisen, hvis der indgår en byttebil. Hvis du kommer for at købe en bil, uden at have en byttebil, vil du til gengæld ofte kunne få rabat svarende til den merpris, som forhandleren ellers ville give for din gamle bil.
